Information for Owners of Toshiba 32AV500U, 37AV500U, 32AV50U and 37AV50U Televisions
To ensure the satisfaction of our customers and to maintain the integrity and quality of our products, Toshiba America Consumer Products, L.L.C. ("TACP") is posting this notice about the 32AV500U, 37AV500U, 32AV50U and 37AV50U LCD TVs. This is not a safety issue.
Recently, it has come to our attention that a small percentage of the 32AV500U, 37AV500U, 32AV50U and 37AV50U LCD TVs may have only sound and no picture when turned on after an extended period of non-use. Frequently, turning the power off and then on again will result in both the audio and video coming on.
No video at turn on may occur for reasons unrelated to this issue. If you are experiencing no video at turn on, please go through the following checklist to determine whether, or not, it is related to this issue:
1. Does the no video condition occur after the TV has been turned off for several hours?
2. Is the power indicator (green) LED on the unit illuminated?
3. If you turn the TV off and on again one or more times, do both the audio and video come on?
If you answered “No” to any of the above questions, you may be experiencing a problem unrelated to this issue. If you answered “Yes” to all of the above questions, your TV may be experiencing the issue that is the subject of this Notice.
TACP is extending the warranty for twelve months on these models for this issue. If this issue is interfering with your enjoyment of this product, please contact TACP Customer Solutions at 1-800-631-3811 so that we can assist you.
